Experience authentic wilderness and Indigenous culture. Located on the scenic Saskatchewan River, in the heart of the pristine Saskatchewan River Delta. Home-cooked meals, rustic log buildings, sauna, showers, and endless wilderness trails. Year-round adventures include canoeing, winter fat tire bike tours, overnight winter camping, cultural fire activities, and bird watching. Specialty archery, and rifle hunting for moose, white-tail deer, and bear.

Our Family
Solomon Carrière
Born and raised in Cumberland House, Sask., Solomon has a strong heritage of Yorkboatmen, Voyageurs, and the Cree culture. He was raised hunting, fishing, canoeing, and trapping. He has a keen awareness of the wilderness and all that it offers, which adds to his excellent guiding and wilderness skills.
Renée Carrière
Renée has her Masters of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and is an entrepreneur and a land-based educator. She is passionate about the land as a teacher. Big Eddy Lodge has been her home for over 36 years. She homeschooled her three children and is currently researching the fire-burning practices of Indigenous people.
Michela Carrière
Born, raised and home-schooled at Big Eddy Lodge, Michela has years of adventure guiding and medicinal plant knowledge. Michela has extensive canoe experience having guided numerous river expeditions. She has knowledge of horticulture and biology and is passionate about the healing powers of nature.
Traveling to Big Eddy Lodge
Big Eddy Lodge is a remote wilderness location. It is accessible in Spring, Summer, and Fall via our canoes or motorboats. In Winter, travel to Big Eddy Lodge will be via our team of sled dogs, fat tire bikes, snowshoeing or on one of our snowmobiles. Big Eddy Lodge is situated 55km upstream from the Village of Cumberland House, Saskatchewan. Cumberland House is a scenic 4.5-hour drive from the Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport. All ground transportation from Cumberland House, Sask. is part of the all packages.
